msi_s20_slider_12

To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure about the MSI S20 Slidebook when I first saw it. Slide-out Windows 8 machines, like those from Sony and Toshiba before it, haven’t done really well, mainly because of the limitations that often come with such a design.

Can MSI make a difference with this portable tablet cum laptop?

ASUS WL-330NUL

There comes a point where our gadgets and gizmos become so small that it just doesn’t matter if one brand is marginally smaller than another. But that’s not stopping ASUS from claiming the “world’s smallest” for its new WL-330NUL pocket router.

At only 6.5 cm in length and weighing only 17.5g, the WL-330NUL may very well be the world’s smallest router, but it comes with a full set of features created specifically for travellers.

VAIO Fit

Ever since the iPhone 4 with its self-styled retina display hit the market, tech companies have been scrambling over each other trying to top each other in the display of their smartphones. Smartphones with 1080p displays are all the rage right now, and even televisions are getting their resolutions bump up to 4K.

Thankfully, laptops are also starting to receive this much-needed upgrade, with Sony’s latest range of affordable laptops shipping with displays of at least 1,600 x 900 pixels.

Singapore may have cleared its pirated stores years ago, but folks going on the Internet instead for pirated software may now be the biggest reason for infected PCs in the country, according to a Microsoft study.

These users unknowingly open their PCs to attack when they download “keygen” software, which promise to generate serial numbers to unlock popular applications such as Microsoft Office, but often open a back door to hackers.

In these tough times, PC makers are still grappling with how much processing power and features to place in their Windows 8 tablets, just to compete with low-cost, low-power iPads and Android tablets.

The Dell Latitude 10 is one example of an either “half empty” or “half full” experience, depending on how you see things.
