Gmail calling goes global

For a long time now we’ve been envious of our American friends, who could make calls to mobile phones and landlines from their Gmail account. We can now enjoy that as well, as Google brings that feature to 150 countries in 35 languages, along with the obligatory cute video explaining the service.

Microsoft launches Office365 open beta with StarHub

Microsoft is making a substantial move to the cloud with Office365 — think Exchange and Word, but only existing in the cloud — whose open beta was just launched worldwide earlier this week.

In a press conference in Singapore yesterday, Microsoft announced that they would be launching Office365 beta for business customers in Singapore through telco StarHub.

As a syndication partner, StarHub is responsible for guaranteeing service quality to business customers locally through SLAs, for example, up to 99.99 percent network uptime.

Singapore real estate agents go on Google Apps

The first of about 2,700 HSR Global real estate agents in Southeast Asia started using Google Apps productivity tools yesterday, in the latest high-profile cloud computing deployment in Singapore.
