The Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni does what modern robot cleaners promise – get your home clean without trouble – though it is arriving in a market that is starting to be a little saturated with so many good floor cleaners.
What may set Ecovacs apart is the new robot cleaner’s efficiency. In my apartment which is typical of many in Singapore, the robot managed to clean the living room, dining room and main bedroom while making only one trip back to the base station.
It handled both vacuuming and mopping in a single run, using its roller mop together with a 30,000Pa suction system to remove dust and debris from the floor. No issue there.
When the battery ran low, the robot returned to the dock for a short charge before heading back out again. With the new fast charging system, it took about 10 minutes before it resumed work. This helped it finish the entire cleaning cycle in under an hour, making the T90 one of the faster robot cleaners in my experience.

A key part of Ecovacs’ cleaning system is the Ozmo Roller 3.0 mopping setup underneath the robot. The 27cm roller presses down on the floor while it spins, allowing it to lift dirt and fine particles rather than simply pushing them around.
The roller is continuously rinsed with clean water, with the dirty water sucked back into the machine. This reduces the chances of streaks being left behind on hard floors.
Another pleasant surprise is how well the brush system handles long hair. Hair tangling is a common problem with many vacuum cleaners, especially handheld ones, but the T90 did not require any manual clearing during my tests. That alone removes one of the more frustrating maintenance tasks after each cleaning run.

Ecovacs has also added a mechanism that pushes the mopping system slightly outward to reach along skirting boards and into corners. This helps the Deebot T90 Pro Omni clean closer to walls and around furniture legs. The robot can also lower its body to slip under cabinets and low furniture where some earlier robot cleaners could not reach.
From my experience, navigation is generally reliable after the robot completes its first scan of your home. It moves from hard floors onto carpets and automatically increases suction power when needed. The rollers also climbs onto rugs without much difficulty.
That said, the T90 is not immune to the typical problems faced by robot cleaners. During testing, it got stuck once on a light towel left on the floor. Another time, it was held up beneath a bicycle.
In rooms where furniture is packed closely together or where cables run across the floor, the robot tends to avoid those areas entirely. This means some dirty spots may still require a quick manual vacuum later.

At S$1,199, the Deebot T90 Pro Omni performs largely as expected for a premium robot cleaner. It cleans quickly, requires little maintenance and handles hair better than many competing models.
For households with fairly open spaces, the Ecovacs’ new robot vacuum should be able to handle most routine floor cleaning with little fuss.
In homes where furniture is packed closely together, or where cables and small items are frequently left on the floor, its effectiveness drops because it tends to steer around those obstacles instead of pushing through them.
So, whether the Deebot T90 Pro Omni is right for you depends on how your home is laid out. If your apartment has clear floor space and minimal clutter, it can easily take over the bulk of day-to-day cleaning with its improved cleaning and navigation systems.
