The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has partnered Google Cloud to develop a generative AI-powered search service that promises to boost efficiency for its operations as well as its network of listed companies.

The new Automated Thai Listed Company AI-Info System (Atlas) is designed to improve information retrieval capabilities through semantic search and AI-driven insights. With it, SET employees can quickly identify market trends, generate customised listing roadmaps, and conduct due diligence on listing applicants.

Built using Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform, Atlas also relies on Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash model. The tool features an intuitive chat interface that enables users to ask questions in everyday language, delivering relevant responses based on SET’s industry-specific knowledge base.

SET also plans to integrate Google Cloud’s BigQuery platform with Atlas to enable real-time data processing. In future, the stock exchange intends to expand Atlas’ reach to listed companies and investors, providing automated 24/7 search assistance, such as for capital markets information.

“Automation of [content translation and transcription] has made relevant news and information, including market data and investment knowledge, more accessible to foreign investors,” said SET’s senior executive vice president, Thirapun Sanpakit.

“As a next step, SET will make Atlas available to investors, further democratising access to market intelligence,” he said, in an announcement yesterday.

Of late, the exchange has been incorporating AI into its operations for market and listed company supervision.

In February 2025, it introduced a generative AI-powered document processing and translation tool, which converts financial reports from Thai to English. It has been adopted by over 100 listed companies.

SET has also implemented an AI-driven video transcription service that converts speeches from its Opportunity Day events, where listed companies conduct a quarterly presentation to provide business performance and outlook updates into text and audio formats, to make financial information more accessible to investors

“Users now expect intelligent, intuitive, and comprehensive search experiences,” said Annop Siritikul, Google Cloud’s country director for Thailand.

SET’s ability to deliver market intelligence, facilitate equity issuance, and preserve market integrity will foster increased market participation and expand access to capital for businesses, ultimately driving job creation and other broader economic benefits for the country, he added.

Beyond SET, some of Google Cloud’s AI collaborations in Southeast Asia include a multi-year collaboration with Singapore Post (SingPost) to use AI-driven tools to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and streamline collaboration for employees.

In Indonesia, telecom operator Telkomsel is integrating Google Cloud’s generative AI into its operations and core product offerings, and Bank Jago is using Google Cloud’s AI and data platforms to enhance operations and customer services.

In Malaysia, the Selangor state government is working with Google Cloud to use AI applications to improve public services in education, healthcare, tourism, and agriculture.
