Pacific Rim EZ-Link cards

Can’t get enough of this summer’s hottest blockbuster Pacific Rim? It may be another few hundred years before we have the technology to build giant mech suits, but until then you can stave off your withdrawal symptoms with the help of limited edition Pacific Rim EZ-Link cards.

The first one, featuring the movie poster, is already on sale, and may very well have sold out by now judging by Singaporeans’ love for all things limited edition.

The next five will feature individual Jaeger characters and will be released gradually: Gipsy Danger on 23 July, Striker Eureka on 26 July, Cherno Alpha on 31 July, Crimson Typhoon on 5 August and Coyote Tango on 7 August.

Each of these cards will be sold at S$12 — S$5 for the card, and S$7 stored value for your train and bus rides.

What’s more, if you do manage to collect all six designs, EZ-Link is giving you a chance to win one year’s worth of free travel on public transport.

To qualify, just take a picture of all six cards and send it in to promotions@ezlink.com.sg.

Even if you don’t manage to collect them all, there are still some prizes to win in a separate promotion.

The cards will be sold at the TransitLink ticket offices at Ang Mo Kio, Bugis, Cityhall, Clementi, Raffles Place, Sengkang, Tampines, and Orchard MRT stations.

Unfortunately, tapping in with these cards won’t turn your next MRT train into a Jaeger.

Now, only one question remains: for how much do you think these cards can be sold on eBay?

depends on which box office you’re referring to http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/23/pacific-rim-reaches-number-one-internationally

            box office mojo (http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=pacificrim.htm)

based on figures as of today, given its production budget, and unknown amount spent on marketing the film, can’t say that it did well.

but if you like the film, that is okay too. we all have our own preferences and it is a personal choice kind of thing. personally like iron man and avengers more.

Yes thank you, at least there’s something we can agree on.
