Singapore cloud service provider ReadySpace has opened a new business unit to meet the demands of businesses who require dedicated app hosting services.

Called Applicacious, the new unit has started offering a WordPress hosting service that includes up to 30GB of disk space and unlimited data transfers.

ReadySpace is also promising round-the-clock telephone and online support, plus a guaranteed uptime of 99.9 per cent.

Compared with regular web hosting offerings, a dedicated app hosting service is tuned to run specific apps such as WordPress in this case.

David Loke, chief executive of ReadySpace, said Applicacious’ WordPress hosting service is built from the ground-up, and optimised with advanced tools and personal tweaks from the firm’s WordPress experts.

The company’s security team will also monitor WordPress sites for suspicious activity, and protect them against brute force and distributed denial of service attacks, he added.

Applicacious plans to add other applications like content management systems Joomla and Drupal, as well as e-commerce software Magento and Prestashop to its portfolio in future.
