WS410 Walkman Lifestyle (1)
Health conscious consumers with a taste for adventure now have a music player that can keep up with their lifestyle, in the saltwater- and dust-resistant WS413 Walkman from Sony.

The WS413 Walkman weighs just 32 grams, and wraps around the back of your head and ear lobes by way of an adjustable band. This makes it a companion for running or swimming, without cords or armbands getting in the way of a good workout.

It also features a rust- and corrosion-resistant coating both on its surface and within its internal terminal, which promises to resist the accumulation of foreign particles in the player.

Another interesting feature takes the form of an ambient sound mode, which uses built-in microphones to pick up sound from the surroundings. Now, you can have motivational music playing without missing instructions from the fitness instructor.

The WS413 Walkman comes with both standard and waterproof earbuds of three varying sizes. The waterproof earbuds come with a thin film to form a barrier against water getting into your ear canal.

The WS413 Walkman’s sand tolerance is also good for beach day Instagrammers. Its sealed structured claims to equalise compression ratios, while ensuring the device stays dust-proof.

It also operates between -5 to 45 degrees Celsius, so it should work in most exotic holiday destinations except those with harsh winters.

The WS413 Walkman comes with just 4GB of storage, so you may have to select your workout mix with care before starting your warm-up.

While it will take 1.5 hours to give the device a full charge that will last 12 hours, a three-minute quick charge ought to provide the Walkman with enough power to last an hour.

All that ruggedness, however, comes at a price. The Walkman WS413 retails at S$149, for a 4GB player without many controls or a screen. It will be available through all Sony Stores, Sony Centres and selected authorised Sony retailers.
