If you’ve always thought about cooking your favourite mee soto or even chilli crab at home without the hassle of preparing the many ingredients or just want a step-by-step guide from a proven recipe, then the Vorwerk Thermomix TM7 machine might be something worth checking out.

The all-in-one kitchen appliance connects to the Internet for an endless list of recipes, including local favourites, and prompts aspiring home cooks to add ingredients and cook their dishes with step-by-step instructions on its screen.

The German-made Thermomix machine weighs the ingredients, chops them, and also cooks them by stir frying, boiling or steaming. It is also a great prep tool, helping to prepare the dough for focaccia, the mix for a tub of ice-cream or the meat sauce for a pasta.

At the Thermomix TasteMaster Cook-Off in Singapore’s Paya Lebar Quarter last weekend, home cook Adeline Toh created a version of Indonesian soto ayam that won her the inaugural TasteMaster crown.

It was inspired by a bowl of the warm soupy noodles that her close friend of 25 years would cook for her every year on her birthday.

“Being part of the Thermomix community has given me the confidence to explore and be more creative in the kitchen,” she said.

“To see a recipe that means so much to me connect with the judges and the audience is something I will always remember,” she added. “I hope it encourages other home cooks to share the stories on their own tables.”

The cook-off formed the centrepiece of Thermomix’s week-long roadshow, consisting of live cooking demonstrations, interactive activities and exploration of the Thermomix TM7.

The experience showed how guided recipes, automated preparation and multiple cooking functions can make everyday meals easier while giving home cooks more freedom to experiment.

The strong turnout also reflected the enduring role of home cooking in Singapore as more than a practical part of daily life. With a Thermomix TM7, aspiring home cooks can experiment with new ideas, celebrate traditions, and create cherished memories in the kitchen.

Besides ready-made recipes on the Thermomix menu, there are numerous self-tested versions that Thermomix or “Thermie” users regularly share across on forums and over social media. They help aspiring home cooks to get started more easily.

“The beauty in having an all-in-one kitchen appliance that takes away the stress in cooking is that everyone can express their creativity and heart through their culinary craft, just like how Adeline brought to life a dish that felt unmistakably personal,” said Christine Wong, general manager for Vorwerk Singapore and Malaysia.

“We are delighted to see so many Singaporeans embracing home cooking,” she added. “The success of our first-ever Thermomix TasteMaster Cook-Off 2026 reflects the meaningful role food plays in connecting people, preserving memories and sharing stories.”

To see how the Thermomix TM7 can transform home cooking, aspiring cooks can visit the company’s physical stores at The Cathay and Parkway Parade for a real look at the all-in-one appliance.
