Sennheiser’s HD700 high-end cans reach Singapore, will cost S$1,399

Sennheiser is releasing a pair of high-end headphones that looks to hit the sweet spot that many of its customers have asked for some time – a pair that is dynamic like the top-end HD800 and yet darker-sounding like the HD650 which a lot of fans love. The result is the HD700.

For months, audio geeks have been checking out the headphones online. It’s now coming to Singapore for S$1,399, the folks from Sennheiser said yesterday.

The HD700 comes with a similar look to the HD800 and features an open back design, which many users feel offers better dynamics and transparency. The HD800’s ring-shaped transducer has also been known to produce clear, clean audio throughout the frequency range.

The HD700 sports a 40mm Duofol transducer and so far, from some reviews online (example: Headfonia from Indonesia), it is said to be less picky on the headphone amp setup and is “easier to enjoy”.

In Singapore, the Sennheiser headphones are on sale at Stereo (Ion Orchard and Plaza Singapura), so do check them out if you are eager to find out the difference between the HD700 and the HD800.

I agree that they’re ‘easier to enjoy’ than the hd800’s. The hd700’s are a little more forgiving if you don’t have the greatest setup but still want a premium music listening experience. I wrote a review, if you’re interested:
